Twilight Star Peter Facinelli to Visit Galleria at Sunset Oct. 11

All “Twilight” fans are excitedly anticipating the release of “New Moon,” the second movie in the “Twilight series, which will hit theatres Friday, Nov. 20. Luckily for Southern Nevada Carlisle fans, they can see Dr. Carlisle Cullen in person as soon as noon, Sunday, Oct. 11, when actor Peter Facinelli will sign autographs and take photos at the Galleria at Sunset.
Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen from “Twilight” and Dr. Fitch “Coop” Cooper on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, will be available for photos and autographs with fans in the lower level, Center Court at the Galleria at Sunset – located on the corner of Sunset Road and Stephanie Street in Henderson at 1300 W. Sunset Road.
Fans can line up outside until 8 a.m. when the mall opens. In the center court there will be separate marked lines for photos and autographs.
The event will kick off with a VIP meet and greet with individuals chosen by MIX 94.1 FM and candidates from the mall’s Shoptopia program. Mercedes from Mark and Mercedes in the Morning on MIX 94.1 FM will kick off the official event with Facinelli’s formal introduction and a Q&A session with the “Twilight” star.
Facinelli’s visit correlates with a blood drive through United Blood Services that is running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the mall’s lower level outside Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The cost for autographs is $25, and the cost for an 8×10 photo with Facinelli is $40. A portion of the proceeds from the autographs and photos will go directly Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Facinelli’s charity of choice.
In the “Twilight” book and movie series, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, a more than 300-year-old vampire, is Esme’s husband and the “adoptive father” of Edward, Rosalie, Emmett, Alice, and Jasper. The first of their coven, he is also their coven leader. Able to resist the temptation of the scent of human blood, Carlisle works as a doctor.
New York City-born Peter Facinelli appeared in several productions at the NYU-affiliated Atlantic Theater Company before making his feature film debut as the devil in Rebecca Miller’s “Angela” (1995). In addition to serving as the patriarch of the mysterious vampire family living in the small town of Forks, Wash., he has since starred in a number of films and TV series.
