LET'S MAKE A DEAL, a new take on the classic game show where audience members dress in outlandish costumes to win cash and prizes by making deals with the host, will begin production Tuesday, September 15 at Tropicana Las Vegas.  The new, one-hour series will premiere Monday, Oct. 5, (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Emmy Award-winner Wayne Brady (Pictured above) will host the new one-hour daytime series produced by FremantleMedia North America ("American Idol," "The Price is Right").

Free tickets for the show are available at http://www.cbs.com/daytime/lets_make_a_deal/ with details about tape dates also available at the site.

The original LET'S MAKE A DEAL was a television game show staple during the 1960s and 70s when it was hosted by Monty Hall from 1963-1977. While later versions aired in syndication and primetime, the game show is best remembered for the years hosted by Hall, who will serve as a creative consultant on this latest version.

The proud home of LET'S MAKE A DEAL, Tropicana Las Vegas has been a Las Vegas landmark since its inception in 1957. Recently acquired by the Onex Corporation and led by seasoned gaming executive Alex Yemenidjian, the historic property is currently transforming itself into a vibrant South Beach, Miami themed escape. Located at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue, in the heart of the famed Las Vegas Strip and featuring numerous restaurants, the 850-seat Tiffany Theater, the famous pool area with cascading waterfalls, more than 1,800 hotel rooms and an action-packed casino, property-wide renovations are scheduled for completion in 2010. For additional information on events, amenities or availability call 702-739-2222 or visit www.tropicanalv.com.

LET'S MAKE A DEAL is hosted by Wayne Brady. Mike Richards ("The Price is Right") is the Executive Producer. Produced by FremantleMedia North America, the one-hour show will be broadcast weekdays (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network.

Gentlemen and Ladies I am concerned. Has anybody from the Lets Make a Deal show, seen on television today, ever seen the original Lets Make a Deal?
From the game show you call Lets Make A Deal today, I see nothing like the past Lets Make a Deal shows, with Monty. This new guy Wayne has a mundane voice, and people could sleep with the excitement he shows on deals, but the show doesn't do deals it does games to earn prizes, no deals on the show. I suspect your ratings for Lets Make a Deal are -10 below SATURDAY morning church shows. The new show has Zonks, sometimes more than one in the same game, they are not deals. The old Lets Make a Deal never had two Zonks together, ever. When the new host Wayne offers money to buy a door or box he goes up in his offer maybe $100 at a time, Monty would jump $500 or $1000 at a time, makes it more exciting. Wayne knows about the games he offers, but knows nothing about how to play them. He confuses some people in the way to play the games. Things you are suppose to do in the games, gets lost, when Wayne fails to explain it.
Wonder why Lets Make a Deal is not as popular, the host and co-host don't know how to excite an audience. I have seen more excitement on the show when the model dances, once in a while. Not to cut Wayne, down, but I have seen more black contestants on the show than ever, is it because Wayne is Black. The number of black, white, Asian, and other ethnic groups there in the audience needs to be covered. I have come to feel if the contestant isn't black when Wayne selects them, then the next one will be. Look in the audience there are not that many blacks in the audience. He needs to cover all the audience and all their colors.
Find a new host and co-host, make deals again, don't make games. Get prizes that people would want, or have a use for. Get bigger prizes, when you get the show back on track.

I myself an African American male, feel that Wayne doesn't pick a fair amount of black or white males. He mostly picks African American & white females. i feel it needs to be fair based on the audience.

  2. Damien Reece says:

Wayne Brady is doing an outstanding job as the first person of color to host a syndicated prime time game show on a major network. Why has it taken decades for someone of color to make another first in a position that has historically been reserved for White males?
Mr. Kendrick, did you complain over the past 57 years about the absence of people of color hosting TV game shows? Sounds more like you were part of the problem.

The audiences on Let's Make a Deal during the Monte Hall days were more White than they are now. It was a rarity to see someone of color and for Monty Hall to pick them from his predominately White audiences. A female game show hostess would be a breathe of fresh air too.

The original Let’s Make a Deal announcer Jay Stewart has been replaced by Jonathan Mangum, Carol Merrill has been replace by Tiffany Coyne and Monty Hall has been replaced by Wayne Brady. Each is unique and brings a diverse, innovative flair to the show.

My only complaint with Wayne Brady is that he opens the Big Deal doors too quickly. He should keep it more suspenseful and open the two doors the contestants didn't pick first.

    • Linda Smith says:

Seriously???? This was a discussion about a game show....why on earth does it have to turn into a debate about race?????? I am so tired of this way of thinking.

  3. Karen Garner says:

My friend will be in Las Vegas with her aunt between the dates of 9/5/10 to 9/15/10. She doesn't own a computer. I've search the website, but haven't found the information I would like to pass along to her.

Are there tickets available for the taping of Let's Make A Deal? They might extend their stay beyond 9/15. How would they go about getting tickets. They would very much like t see the show and they are big fans of Wayne Brady. Thanks! Wish I could be there.

  4. La-a says:

It's too bad but a lot of what Bill says is true. When you look at the percentage of blacks in the audience and the number of blacks that he chooses to play, your odds of being chosen seem better if black. We will see if this is true when we notice that the makeup of the audience dramaticaly changes in time as others notice as well. Sorry Wayne just an observation.

  5. La-a says:

On a lighter side I am glad the show is back and "all" the contestants look happy and excited to be there. They should be. Its a good show.

  6. mel says:

Race has nothing to do with Waynes picks, he clearly is picking based on sex. Next time you watch, count how many times he picks girls in short shorts and bikini tops over men. He usually picks only 1 guy per episode, if even that many.

  7. storm says:

I Love Wayne Brady on LET'S MAKE A DEAL, especially when he does all the characters, I Missed that it didn't air today 3/17/11 very funny and entertaining.. Didn't realize how talented he is,it doesn't matter that it doesn't compare to the other LMAD show Time for a change, a change for the better.

  8. WWFBBC says:

That guy gets more ladies than any of you in here. yum
