Called Union Village, the visionary model for health care will offer a world-class hospital complex and health center, residential, entertainment and specialty retail space, a vibrant senior retirement community and a civic and cultural arts center integrated into a master-planned community. Construction on the $1.2 billion project began today when The Valley Health System broke ground on a brand new 142-bed acute care hospital called Henderson Hospital, its sixth facility in Southern Nevada. The groundbreaking event brought together community leaders to celebrate the first step in a new vision for healthcare in the United States.

In addition to breaking ground, it was announced that Union Village has entered into a letter of intent with another healthcare provider for a 165-bed sub-acute care facility. Plans regarding additional future developments were also announced, including reaching a purchase and sale agreement with Las Vegas Athletic Club (LVAC) on a 10-acre parcel of land on the north end of the property to construct a 90,000-square foot athletic, fitness and family-orientated exercise facility. Union Village also expects to sign another purchase and sale agreement for a 350-unit townhome development and is currently interviewing operators to develop senior units, including independent living, assisted living and memory care.
