The long awaited official Swatch store will celebrate its grand opening at New York-New York Hotel & Casino on Friday, March 14, 2014 (Pictured: The Swatch Director of Retail Marketing with the Swatch Minutemen of Las Vegas).
Swatch will officially kick off its residency at New York-New York by bringing a “New York State of Mind” to Las Vegas. Join in the fun 5-8pm for drinks, NY style food (think hot dogs, pretzels, peanuts and knishes) and entertainment that will include a slight of hand artist, a hot dog eating contest (Coney Island style), hip hop dancers and of course the Swatch Minutemen will be on the prowl! A DJ will be on scene playing the best music around… a true New York State of Mind!
Swatch will be offering various giveaways including tickets for the NY-NY roller coaster, Zumanity tickets and a free weekend stay at New York-New York Hotel & Casino.
The Swatch Minutemen (pictured) are the street team of Flasher’s… Think New York… think walking through Times Square and you’re approached by a man in trench coat who opens it up trying to sell “hot” watches at a discount price. Swatch has brought that flare, the flavor, the excitement to the strip of Las Vegas (in front on NY NY) to capture and present the elements of NYC!
Swatch, launched in 1983 by Nicolas G. Hayek, is a leading Swiss watchmaker and one of the world’s most popular brands. The first Swatch watches surprised everyone with their revolutionary concept, creative design and provocative spirit. Today Swatch continues to innovate and surprise with new models, collections and special editions. The brand maintains a strong presence in the world of sports with its commitment to snowboarding, freeskiing, surfing, FMX and ice cross downhill. Right from the start, Swatch connected with art and artists, and Swatch watches remain a prominent canvas for artists from a broad range of disciplines.
