September 6, 2013 by VegasNews.com
For the first time in its 11 year history, Fright Dome at Circus Circus Las Vegas teamed up with horror industry legends to create one of the most chilling trailer videos of all time.
Starring “Scream Queen” Danielle Harris and famed actor Sid Haig, the video launched today, on Fright Dome Owner Jason Egan’s birthday, Friday, Sept. 6 and can be seen right here!
Filmed at one of the most haunted venues in the nation, Linda Vista Community Hospital, the video will feature Harris as she is stalked by the nightmare-evoking horror villain from Fortress Features movies THE COLLECTOR and THE COLLECTION. Located in west Los Angeles, Linda Vista has become a Hollywood hotspot location for filming. The labyrinth of hallways, abandoned operating rooms, psych holding cells and more have been home to such movies as OUTBREAK, DAY OF THE DEAD 2, INSIDIOUS, CHILDREN OF THE CORN and many more.
“The collaboration with Fortress Features to use the story behind their horror movies THE COLLECTOR and THE COLLECTION will truly take Fright Dome to the next level this year,” said Egan. “When we sat down to brainstorm the trailer I couldn’t think of more talented actors to reach out to than longtime friends Danielle and Sid. The overall premise behind the video is every horror fan’s worst nightmare- being singled out and hunted by a devious villain. It will give Fright Dome fans a first-hand look at what this year’s isolation-style house has waiting for them.”
Fright Dome is increasing the number of haunted houses within the sweeping 250,000 square foot haunted theme park attraction from five stand-alone mazes to six to celebrate its 11th anniversary. The sixth house, an isolation-style haunted house and the premise for the video, appropriately named “Hotel Argento” will take only upgraded fast pass guests into the depths of the Collector’s lair. Separated from friends and forced to enter alone, guests will forge their way through traps and snares, the Collector’s demented assortment of barely coherent victims and museum-esque displays of lifeless prey all while being hunted themselves, as portrayed by Harris in the video. Will they make it out… or will they become the next victim added to his meticulous colllection?
Danielle Harris, famed “Scream Queen” from HALLOWEEN IV and HALLOWEEN V visits Fright Dome on an annual basis to meet and greet with fans and sign autographs. Harris is one of the few actresses to have made a successful transition from child star to one of the most recognizable and in demand female stars in the horror film industry. Recognized widely for her reoccurring roles in the HALLOWEEN horror franchise she returned to the delight of fans around the world to star in the Dimension Films, Rob Zombie directed, HALLOWEEN and HALLOWEEN 2. In 2010, she starred in HATCHET II with horror greats Kane Hodder and Tony Todd. Other memorable performances include roles in DON’T TELL MOM THE BABYSITTER’S DEAD, FREE WILLY, CITY SLICKERS, MARKED FOR DEATH and many more.
Tall, bald and almost always bearded, Sid Haig has provided hulking menace to many a horror fan in his more than 50 year career. In 2000, he starred in Rob Zombie’s debut film HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES as the fun-loving but deadly Captain Spaulding. This role brought a whole new round of fans to Haig’s acting career and earned him an award for Best Supporting Actor in the 13th Annual Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, as well as an induction into the Horror Hall of Fame.
