UnitedHealthcare IRONKIDS athletes will run along part of the same route as the upcoming IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
The one-mile Fun Run is for “triathletes to be” and aimed to help stem the rising tide of childhood obesity through exercise and healthy lifestyles.
The company will provide complimentary entry fees for the race to local community organizations, enabling youth who often face barriers to good health, to compete in a running event.
UnitedHealthcare’s mascot, Dr. Health E. Hound, along with community supporters and families, will cheer the kids on as they “compete” for healthy living.
